Fortnite recently added the Air Bending Mythic, which allows you to use Air Bending powers from Avatar: The Last Airbender to gain a ton of mobility. While a welcome sight at first, players have grown sick of Airbending due to how annoying it has become to deal with.
You can use two abilities with the air-bending mythic item: the air wheel and the air jump. Since it is hard to catch a person using these abilities, it can be pretty annoying if they are used near the end of the game.
Players with airbending mythic items can easily dodge bullets and escape attacks, making them nearly impossible to hit. This results in other players losing their cool.
Players sometimes empty an entire clip without hitting the enemy even once. Whereas sometimes players who try to chase airbenders across the map are left in the dust.
As Fortnite traditionally should be about strategy, precision, and gunplay, it becomes a game of Tom and Jerry because of the airbending mythic abilities. A player on Reddit showed in a video how annoying air-bending mythic abilities can become.
Some frustrated players shared their perspective, suggesting that the Air Bending mythic needs nerfing, whereas some even proposed bringing back the Chains of Hades tool to counter those who are airborne.
“Please put the Chains Of Hades back in the game before this event ends I’m begging you Epic…Just one time I need to pull one of these people out of the hamster wheel and do what needs to be done” a Reddit user said.
Although Chains of Hades sounds like a fair addition to even things out, it’s highly unlikely for Epic Games to add it at the moment since the avatar event is almos over as it will end on May 3. All we can do now is hope that the upcoming event, Star Wars, will have more balanced abilities.
